SolarGuard is a durable wire mesh installed around the perimeter of your solar panels. You may hear it described as critter guard, squirrel guard, or a protective bird mesh barrier. Its purpose is to deter squirrels and other small animals from getting underneath your solar system, where they can cause damage to wiring and ruin your system’s components.
While animal damage is uncommon, repairs can be costly when it does occur—and damage caused by animals is not covered under most solar warranties and may not be covered by homeowner insurance.

If your system was installed before it was available, or your installer did not install critter guard on your system, we offer SolarGuard as a standalone service.
